Enheduanna, you were the first to publically declare yourself as a writer.
You wrote to and about the Divine, and of sacred beliefs. You were the first hymnist to the Goddess.
You were a great mistress of words and you inspired the blending of cultures and languages.
You devoted yourself to Inanna, and you lived a life of spiritual service even in difficult political times.
I honor you and thank you. And I ask for your blessings, for this exhibition and for all writing projects.
Enheduanna, scribal priestess of Inanna,
Goddess of the eight-pointed star,
You were the very first by-lined author.
Please bring your grace and brilliance to my writing project.
Give me the courage to own my writing power,
And to proudly share all that I create.
I come in the name of new possibilities.
Please shine your grace upon me.
Please protect me, fill my heart with the power and inspiration of your writing medicine.
May I trust my heart. May I write what is in my heart.
May I grow lighter, wiser, and more skillful.
May your grace shine upon my mind, my words, my computer.
So be it.
Thank you for your assistance, Enheduanna.
